Bunny Rosette Pillow Box

Flattened tube with fold-in oval ends
is a unique treat box for Easter baskets or
other special occasions.
Pleated scallop edge rosette has scallop
and plain circle medallion embellishment with
layered bunny decoration
Measures approx. 4.75" long x 2.5" wide x .75" deep.

ASSEMBLY: 1. Identify and cut the shapes:
A main pillow box   B rosette scalloped strips (2)
C rosette front, back covers
D scallop circle front accent
E plain circle front accent
F bunny main body base
G body overlay  H head
I tail accent  J tummy accent
(Images in steps 2-10 are from a different, similar project.)
2. Prepare the main box shape by bending
back on middle perforation, side flange tab.
3. Carefully bend back on the curved ends
micro-perforations.
4. Fold the box in half to align the straight
side edge at the opposite flange tab perf line,
and join the side seam.
5. Prepare the rosette strips by accordion-folding
on the perforation lines, beginning with the end tab
which is bent forward. Then alternate back folds
and forward folds across each of the strips.
6. Join the strips into one unit by overlapping
the straight "right" end over the "left" end tab
of the second strip to the perforation line,
and join.
7. Form the strips into a ring with the face side
outward, and complete the second seam.
8. Form the strips into the circular rosette by
pressing the straight lower edge inward and
to the center . . .
. . . until it is flattened on the work surface.
Apply pressure from sides toward center
to gather the pleats as tightly as possible
while forcing the smallest center circle as possible.
9. While holding the rosette in position achieved
in previous step, apply hot glue around the center
circular opening, then quickly position and afix
the front cover circle. Continue to apply pressure
inward to keep the rosette strips circular and tight.10. Turn the rosette face down to position and
attach the backside cover circle.
11. Prepare the bunny accent unit by positioning
the body overlay over the body base, matching
the cut edges that correspond as precisely as possible.
12. Position the tail accent and the tummy accent
over the base shape, tucked tightly next to
the edges of the body overlay.
13. Position and attach the head.
14. Darken the eye by coloring the recess
with ink pen.
15. Layer and attach the scallop and plain circle
accent shapes, then . . .
. . . position and attach the rosette over
the center of the pillow box by aligning
the punch circle guide marks.
(Thick style, quick-dry glue recommended,
such as hot glue or Fabri-Tack.)
16. Position (centered) bunny accent unit
over the rosette and attach in place.
17. Close the end of the box by bending in
the finger half circle flange inward first . . .
. . . fold in the second end.
Fill with desired contents, then repeat
for the final end.
